What we don't do, on purpose

We never apply for you. You apply on the job page, and the tracker keeps the record.
No user counts we cannot measure. Our figures come from our own data and carry a date.
Cancelling renewal never deletes your work. Your readings, CVs and saved drafts stay on Free until you delete them or your account is unused for five years. You can download your data.

Questions about plans, billing and your data

How does the free trial work?

The 7-day trial is on Pro quarterly, once per account. You add a card to start it. There is no subscription charge during the trial. Your plan page shows the date it ends.

What happens when the trial ends?

If you have not cancelled, £69.99 is charged when the trial ends, then £69.99 every 3 months (£23.33 a month) until you cancel.

What if I cancel during the trial?

Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the subscription charge. Pro stays on until the trial's last day, then your account moves to Free.

Is there a trial on the monthly plan?

No. Monthly is £34.99 a month, charged when you choose it, then every month until you cancel.

How do I cancel?

On your plan page, press Manage billing. It opens your Stripe billing page, where you can cancel, change your card and see receipts. You can also ask us to cancel. Contact Fitread.

What happens when I cancel?

Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, then your account moves to Free. Your readings, CVs, tracker and saved drafts stay in your account and can be exported. They are kept until you delete them or your account is unused for 5 years. Deleting all your Fitread data ends Pro at once; it is different from cancelling renewal.

Which payment methods can I use?

Stripe takes payments on its own checkout page and shows the payment methods available for your subscription, device and browser.

Do prices include VAT?

Prices include VAT. You are charged in pounds (GBP). Your card issuer may convert the payment if your account uses another currency.

Is my payment information safe?

Your card number goes to Stripe on its checkout page, never to Fitread. We keep references to your subscription and its plan status; we never see or store your card number.

How is my CV kept safe?

Signed out, your CV is read in memory and never stored; the reading is kept for 24 hours. Signed in, a CV you choose to save is kept in private file storage, and only your account can download it. To write AI text, your CV and the advert are sent to Anthropic, which runs the Claude model for us. You can delete any CV or reading, or everything, at any time. How we handle your CV.

What if a payment fails?

Pro stays on for 7 days while you update your card in Manage billing. If the payment still fails, your account moves to Free. Nothing is deleted by the plan change.

Is Fitread only for contractors or IT?

No. It reads any CV against any UK advert: contract, temp or permanent, in any sector. It started with contracts because that is where ContractorUK's adverts are.

Is it for temp and permanent jobs too?

Yes. A temp advert shows its pay exactly as stated, with shifts, start and availability. A permanent advert shows salary, notice and start as stated; there is no permanent market salary comparison. Job Match ranks contract jobs, or temp jobs when you switch the board; there is no permanent board.

Does Fitread apply for jobs for me?

No. Applying is your own act. A reading links to the job page and you apply there when you are ready; the tracker keeps the record.

Is my CV stored?

Not if you are signed out: the file is read in memory and discarded, and only the reading (skills found, figures and advice) is kept for 24 hours at a private link. Signed in, your CV is stored only if you tick "Save this CV", and you can delete readings and CVs at any time.

Why are jobs, applying and alerts free?

Because Fitread sells tools, not access to work. Jobs, applying, job alerts and the tracker remain free on every plan.

Is everything in Pro included in the trial?

Yes. Every Pro tool, LinkedIn included, from the first day.

When do my free readings reset?

Your 5 free readings reset on the 1st of each month (UK time). Unused readings do not carry over. Re-checking your CV in the Editor does not use a reading.
